John’s Story: A talented musician suffering with tinnitus and vertigo.

When I first came in, I had gone to several different doctors. I had very bad tinnitus, vertigo, nausea, dizziness, the whole bit. No one was really able to give me any answers. I even had an EMT tell me, “okay there’s nothing wrong with you.” I got a hearing test and all that. I went down that whole road. They said, “there’s nothing wrong. You’ll just have to get used to it. You’ll just have to live with it.”

And, being a part time musician, I was no longer able to play. I couldn’t do gigs. I couldn’t… couldn’t do a lot really. I had to skip a family vacation. There was no way I could get on the plane. I was pretty much nauseous most of the time.

When I came in here, um, I mean it was basically as a result of just looking on the internet and I saw, okay, tinnitus is one of the things that you treat. And I said, “well I got nothing to lose.” So I came in. And everyone here explained everything. We did all the tests, explained everything to me. I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical at first, but I just thought, “well, you know, maybe it’s just time to take a leap of faith and let’s see what happens.”

And now, a year and a half later, I’ve been through the therapy. We’ve done Invisalign. We’ve done appliances. And I am back to being a functioning human being.

No dizziness anymore. No vertigo anymore, at all. Um and your support throughout this whole thing has just been incredible to me. You know, I mean here we are even now a year and a half later, and you guys are calling me, “oh, you know, come in and let’s make sure everything’s good.” And, yeah, I really couldn’t be happier.

I never thought I would be… when I walked in here I thought… I would never have dreamed that I would be doing this well ever! Because it just had been such a long road and you have so many doctors just give you no hope at all. And um, that’s the first thing that you… Dr. Logan was the first doctor to actually say, “oh I think… I can see what’s wrong here and I can do something about it.” Where most doctors don’t even know what to look for. So, that’s the difference.
